Test Preparation: TOEFL, GMAT & GRE
Test Preparation programs are designed for students who want to improve their scores while learning specialized test-taking skills and exam strategies.
Approach has developed a simple and efficient method to help International students overcome the difficulties imposed by American standardized tests.
Standardized tests are multiple choice exams administered to many people and graded primarily by computers. They are widely used in the US for college and graduate school admissions and professional licensing exams.
Preparation for these tests involves more than just a few hours of study. To help students do well on these tests, Approach has developed a test-taking system that works. Individual attention and concentration on the student' needs is the key to our success. All students must be assessed by our English placement test before starting.
Our test preparation programs are designed by experts who not only achieved great scores themselves but also have considerable experience teaching the strategies you need to accomplish your goals.
To achieve a great score on a standardized test, you must learn not only the test subjects, but also strategies to perform under time constraints. Besides the lack of English, most International students have specific needs according to their country of origin and previous education. Our full-time courses cover the entire content of the exams, with special focus on those topics that pose the most difficulty for international students. The part-time programs are designed for Americans and International students with previous experience in a university setting.
We offer full-time courses (18 hours per week) and part-time courses (9 hours per week) in two-month sessions for the following tests:
TOEFL CBT & TOEFL IBT- The Test of English as a Foreign Language ® (TOEFL) measures the ability of an international student to function in North American English as it is spoken, written and heard in an academic setting. Most colleges and universities in the USA require a TOEFL score before admitting an international student. Depending on when and where you will take the TOEFL test, it is best to prepare to take the TOEFL CBT ( computer-based test) or the TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test).
GMAT - The Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT) is designed to measure basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that have been developed over a long period of time through education and work. It is a requirement for most Business schools and MBA programs.
GRE – The Graduate Record Examination® (GRE) is designed to measure individual characteristics that are important for graduate study. Reasoning skills, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively in writing are taken in the General Test, and discipline-specific content knowledge through the Subject Tests. It is a requirement for most Graduate schools including: Engineering, Education, Psychology, Science, Social science, Veterinary.
Good strategy and serious studying are the keys to your success.
